Olivier L. de Weck PhD ’01, Professor of Aeronautics and Astronautics and Engineering Systems, was the event’s emcee for the night, introducing teams and explaining the engineering concepts behind each event.

Shinkle ’15 last Thursday evening in Wong Auditorium.

Shinkle (left), the student ambassador to MIT for the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development, hosted a panel on Monday night, featuring (from left) Roger Porter, a professor at the Harvard Kennedy School; Carol Guthrie, head of the OECD Washington Center; and Baruch Perl, an official at the Boston Israeli consulate. Topics included the development of sustainable economic policies and the promotion of healthy competition between entities.




Ruth Westheimer signs copies of the newest edition of her book, Sex for Dummies, after a discussion about sex in the modern day last Thursday evening. Almost 87 years old and just 4 feet 7 inches tall, Westheimer gave a spirited talk about topics including loving relationships, premature ejaculation, and sexual assault.




Derek C. Barnes ’16 (left) placed fourth and William S. Lee ’16 placed first in the men’s 200m at the Engineers Cup on April 4. In their first home meet of the season, the Men’s and Women’s Track and Field teams defeated RPI 107-86 and 136.5-50.5, respectively.

Chandrakasan, the faculty representative for the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, invest a doctoral degree hood during Thursday afternoon’s hooding ceremony in the Johnson Athletics Center. Michael J. Massimino PhD ‘92, a former NASA astronaut, gave the address to the candidates.
