Performers from the MIT Lion Dance group entertain the audience with a stylized routine, most of which comes from the Southern tradition. The routine also incorporates elements from modern choreography.

Akhilesh Bakshi sings a solo with the MIT Ohms during Jhankaar, the Yale, Harvard and MIT South Asian a cappella showcase on Friday, March 7. Hosted by the Ohms in 32-123, Jhankaar also featured performances from Yale’s Sur et Veritaal and Harvard’s Mirch.

Participants at Colleges Against Cancer’s all-night Relay for Life event dance in the group Zumba exercise Saturday evening in Johnson Indoor Track. The goal of the fundraising event is to increase cancer awareness and raise funds for research, advocacy efforts, education,and patient service programs.

The EECS department unveiled its new teaching area, the Cypress Engineering Design Studio (EDS for short) on Tuesday, April 1. Located at 38-501, EDS is dedicated to building hardware and programming systems, and features laser cutting tools, a soldering station and other fabrication equipment. The new teaching area will be used by existing and new project based classes.

The MIT Logarhythms perform during SGBIS, the Spring Greater Boston Invitational Songfest, on Friday in 10-250. SGBIS featured performances from 11 of MIT’s a cappella groups.

Members of Chamak perform during Jadoo, the South Asian Culture Show, in Kresge on Friday evening. Hosted by MIT’s South Asian Association of Students, the show included performances from MIT and BU student groups.
