Upperclassmen help freshmen explore their options at the Choice of Major Study Break in Next Dining on Thursday night. The event, organized by Next House RBA (Residence-Based Advising), allowed freshmen to talk with upperclassmen from departments in which they were interested. Maureen R. Lynch, Design and Manufacturing I (2.007) course administrator, knocks on the doors of mechanical engineering graduate students after being awarded the Big Screw by Alpha Phi Omega. Upon winning the award, Lynch led a victory parade through Building 3.
Brooks L. Reed ’09 (far) and Elizabeth A. Hass ’10 (near) control the No. 6 Dinghy for MIT on Tuesday during the ICSA/Gill Coed Dinghy National Championship. Reed and Hass finished ninth in this particular race on their way to a 12th place overall finish in the A division. As a team, MIT placed sixth in the competition.
Top-ranked Rafael Nadal unleashes a forehand during his second round win against Teimuraz Gabashvili at the 2009 French Open. Nadal would eventually lose to #23 Robin Soderling in the fourth round, ending his streak of 31 consecutive wins at Roland Garros.
