Morton finished the race in 22.45 seconds, placing 16th of the 112 competitors in the event. Morton also placed third overall in the long jump with a distance of 22’ 3”.

Kevin Y. Wang ’08 plays with the “Conductor Hero” project at the Eta Kappa Nu Student Project Expo. The game plays a pre-recorded song, following the conductor’s direction much like an orchestra would. HKN, the honor society for Electrical Engineering and Computer Science students, held the annual Expo yesterday afternoon in the Vannevar Bush Room.

Stephen A. Morton ’10 takes his first attempt in the finals of the long jump competition. Morton went on to win the competition with a jump of 6.92 meters (22’ 8.5”). The MIT men’s track and field team destroyed the competition this past Saturday, Feb. 2, scoring 240 points to best Tufts University (107 points), Springfield College (86), Bowdoin College (70), and Colby College (51).
The moon passed completely into the Earth’s shadow this past Wednesday night in the last total lunar eclipse until Dec. 2010. Donald Byron looks on as Daniel E. Bickerstaff ’10 plays a guitar solo during Byron’s own “Joe Btfsplk.” The Festival Jazz Ensemble presented “Don Byron’s Musical Worlds Part 1” this past Friday, March 7 in Kresge Auditorium. Byron, an MLK Visiting Professor as well as a Grammy-nominated composer and clarinetist, played the saxophone and the clarinet while directing part of the concert.
