Hackers installed a giant band-aid on MIT’s Great Dome on the night of November 30, right after the wrapping that had been protecting the Dome during repairs was removed. The band-aid was presumably intended to symbolize that the “surgery” was complete.
Hackers turned the ceiling of Lobby 7 into a giant “black hole” early on Saturday morning, complete with a crumpled CERN spaceship being sucked into the center (in reference to the Large Hadron Collider project).

In honor of the 80th anniversary of Pluto’s discovery, hackers installed a motorized solar system mobile in Lobby 7 on Thursday. They also adorned the Lobby 7 pedestals with birthday-themed paraphernalia. Two other “dwarf planets,” Eris and Makemake, are Pluto’s birthday party guests.

To celebrate the 400th anniversary of the Sidereus Nuncius, Galileo’s first observations through a telescope, hackers hung an asteroid belt from the ceiling on the 8th floor of the Green Building on Tuesday. They also installed planets and a display plaque commemorating the occasion.
For Campus Preview Weekend 2010, hackers installed a high-class lounge (complete with pool table, sleeping cat, whiskey, and hack plans) upside down on the Media Lab Arch on Thursday morning.
