At the Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear on the Mall on Saturday, comedians Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert showed up with a semi-serious message promoting political moderation. As visitors flooded the nation’s capital, wacky characters and witty signage were in abundance.

At the “Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear”, many people dressed in costumes and held satirical signs. Over 200,000 people attended the event hosted by Jon Stewart and Steven Colbert.
