Only a short stump in the midst of a puddle remained after a large tree at the southeast entrance to W20 was cut down Tuesday morning. Grounds Services was not available for comment Tuesday evening.
Students weaved their way around an accident involving a Boston Daytime shuttle and a black Porsche Cayenne late Wednesday morning at 77 Mass Ave. The winter storm started early that morning and continued into the afternoon and evening, dropping almost ten inches of snow over Boston and Cambridge.
Rambax MIT, MIT’s Senegalese drum ensemble, performs behind co-director and artist-in-residence Lamine Touré as he conducts the audience at “Pulse 2014: Feel The Beat.” The show was hosted by the MIT Black Students’ Union this Saturday evening and featured a wide variety of acts, from gospel choir to a reading of an excerpt from Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech.

The outside of Kresge was filled with upbeat music and cheers of encouragement as rowers from student and independent living group teams worked to raise money for Amphibious Achievement’s third annual Erg-A-Thon on Thursday. Amphibious Achievement raises money for programs that combine aquatic instruction and college preparatory training for urban youth. This year, $10,299 in donations were raised and over half a million meters were rowed by all teams.
Emotions were high at the finish line of the 118th running of the Boston Marathon on Monday.
