This Calvin and Hobbes mural in Burton Third once depicted Hobbes the cat holding a bottle of Jack Daniels. The bottle was painted over when other murals, containing references to alcohol, were also painted over before residents moved in for the Fall.

This summer, the MIT Media Lab’s Mediated Matter Group commissioned 6,500 live silkworms to build a 12 ft. by 12 ft. dome. The dome is on display in the east entrance of the Media Lab.

Rambax, MIT’s Senegalese Drum Ensemble, performs beneath bright blue skies reflected in the windows of the Student Center on Tuesday afternoon. The group was founded in 2001 and is co-directed by artist-in-residence Lamine Touré and the group’s faculty advisor Professor Patricia J. Tang.
