MIT Voices Opinions About Gay Marriage

As an amendment to the Massachusetts Constitution to ban same-sex marriage and establish civil unions was approved by the legislature yesterday, students, faculty, staff and community groups expressed a variety of opinions and reactions on the same-sex marriage debate.

To commemorate her life, the Department of Ocean Engineering put up posters of Fowler SCUBA diving, with the words “doing what she loved most” underneath the photo. Fowler was fond of SCUBA diving and photography, and briefly worked for, a company specializing in marine life photos.
