Make friends, or else...

When I was a freshman, I received a far more welcoming welcome from the members of the various fraternities and housees I visited during R/O than I could possibly have gotten from “The Academy,” whatever that may be. New students need to make friends and form communities, in order to learn to be healthy, stable human beings who can handle the stresses of MIT life and beyond. When was the last time you made a good friend because some unknown bureaucrat told you to?
