History tends not to be very original, as the same names get recycled again and again. In 1410, a Polish-Lithuanian army produced a major victory over the Knights of the Teutonic Order at the Battle of Tannenberg. Half a millenium later in the opening month of the First World War, August 1914, the Russian invasion of East Prussia was annihilated at another Battle of Tannenburg by the Germans. In both cases, the battle signaled the decline of the loser's power.
What other identically named events occurred on April 19, 1775 and later on October 3, 1951?
