Women's Soccer Wins Match

By Thomas Kettler

The women's soccer team won its third game of the season on Tuesday, defeating Elms College by a score of 3-2.

Chantal Wright '95 starred in the first half, scoring two goals in two minutes on assists by Brindha Muniappan '94 and Thuy Le '97. These goals gave her five for the season, the team's best. Elms did not score at all in the first half, as the Engineers effectively kept the ball on their opponents' side of the field.

Elms attempted to tie the game during the second half but fell short. Their first goal, by Linda Kieras, was not made until 15 minutes into the half. Theresa Chiueh '94 of MIT matched it seven minutes later with her first goal of the season. With nine minutes left to play, Julie Heroux scored the second and final Elms goal, which was not enough to save the game.

The soccer team next faces Salve Regina College on Thursday at Henry Steinbrenner Stadium.
