Weak Frontal Assault
By Michael J. Ring
It should be a pleasant evening for trick-or-treating around Greater Boston as temperatures remain mild and the showers associated with an approaching cold front hold off until tomorrow morning.
In fact, the weather across North America today is mostly tranquil, with the only noteworthy system being a low pressure system over Ontario and the associated cold front draping southward. While some showers will occur along the front in the Ohio Valley, the heavy precipitation from this system will be confined to Canada. Meanwhile the western half of North America will experience dry weather today.
This front may bring us a few showers Wednesday morning, but they should not be too heavy. Once the front passes, we will enjoy several days of sunny but noticeably cooler weather, with high temperatures struggling to reach 50F and low temperatures near freezing in central Boston, and below freezing in the suburbs.
Today: Partly sunny, seasonably warm. High 67F (19C).
Tonight: Cloudy, showers likely toward dawn. Low 53F (12C).
Tomorrow: Mostly cloudy, scattered showers in the morning. High 64F (18C).
Tomorrow night: Clear. Low 46F (8C).
Thursday: Partly sunny and cooler. High 55F (13C).
Friday: Sunny and continued cool. High 50F (10C).
