Under the proposed T fare hike, subway prices would rise from $1.25 to $1.70, and bus fares would jump from 90 cents to $1.25. The last two of five public hearings on the MBTA’s proposed fare hike are scheduled for next week, on June 12 in Attleboro and June 13 in Arlington. Most commuter rail passes would also cost 22 percent more, according to an article in last month’s Boston Globe. If approved, the new fares would go into effect in January.
