Pedro Martinez, Thinking Man

To the Editor:

Yong-yi Zhu incorrectly interpreted Pedro Matrinez’s gestures & body language during Game 3 of the ALCS [“Hey Pedro: Please Shut Up and Grow Up,” Oct. 17]. Instead of threatening to hit Jorge Posada in the head, what he was saying was:

(points at Posada): “Hey you”

(points at own temple): “Think about it. Why would I walk the bases loaded?”

Baseball is a thinking person’s game, and Pedro was merely reminding Posada of this.
