The following incidents were reported to the MIT Police October 1-15, 2002. This summary contains most incidents reported to the MIT Police but does not include incidents such as: medical shuttles, ambulance transfers, false alarms, general service calls, etc.

October 1: Bldg. 56, backpack containing laptop computer and cell phone stolen $2,150; Bldg. 1, stolen bike $150; Tang Hall, report of annoying phone calls; 500 Memorial Dr., bike stolen $150.

October 2: Bldg. 66, laptop computer stolen $1,600; Bldg. E52, report of stolen bike; Bldg. 9, report of bike stolen $350;

October 3: Bldg. 42, report of suspicious motor vehicle in the rear of power plant; Bldg. E18, annoying phone calls.

October 4: Bldg. 1, two juvenile males arrested for larceny of a bicycle; Bldg. E52, report of suspicious person loitering on second floor, gone upon MIT PD arrival; Bldg. 1, report of attempted larceny of a bicycle; Zeta Psi, homeless male in doorway, gone upon arrival.

October 5: Student Center, breaking and entering of retail business and larceny of cash; Bldg. 56, Stephen and Thomas Martin arrested for trespassing and larceny.

October 6: Bldg. 56, larceny of monitor and keyboard $830.00; Alpha Delta Phi, report of loud music; Fenway House, report of suspicious males loitering, subjects gone on arrival of MIT PD.

October 7: Bldg. 16, report of stolen saxophone and case $2,100; Bldg. 66, report of past larceny of CD player with headphones $275.00; Student Center, bicycle stolen $750.00; Bldg. 16, computer stolen $749.00; Boston, Delta Upsilon, report of loud music.

October 8: Bldg. 6, stolen CD player $50; Bldg. 11, report of person causing disturbance, gone on arrival of MIT PD; N10 lot, vehicle broken into, bag containing books stolen $240.00; Bldg. 11, report of suspicious person, checks out okay; Bldg. E23, stolen medical syringes $50; Bldg. E38, report of suspicious package; Bldg. 6, stolen CD player $50.

October 9: Bldg. 20, stolen bike $20; East Campus, report of restraining order violation; Student Center, 1) stolen wallet $70; 2) stolen eyeglasses, later recovered $700; 3) check and inquiry of two individuals; Fort Washington area, report of armed robbery $30 cash taken; 500 Memorial Dr., stolen laptop computer $3,000;

October 10: Bldg. 54, stolen bike $180.00; Memorial Dr., report of suspicious vehicle, checked out okay.

October 11: Bldg. W31, MIT ID stolen from locker room; Bldg. E53, laptop stolen $2,000; Bldg. 50, report of breaking and entering, Durand Sorrell arrested; 77 Mass Ave. report of 3 males causing disturbance; Student Center, jacket stolen $250; Sailing Pavilion, wallet stolen and credit cards used; Albany and Cross St., 3 juveniles arrested for breaking and entering a vehicle and other related charges.

October 12: East Campus, report of restraining order violation.

October 13: Boston, Lambda Chi Alpha, report of loud music; Bldg. NE 10, report of suspicious person, gone on arrival of MIT PD.

October 14: East Campus, report of restraining order violation; Student Center, Christopher Evans arrested for outstanding warrant and trespassing, Kenneth Roy arrested for trespassing; outside W51, suspicious person; Bldg. 8 computers stolen, approximately $2,500.

October 15: Student Center, bike stolen $150; Bldg. E25, laptop computer stolen $1,200.
