Junoon, the most popular South Asian rock band, performed live in concert at Kresge Auditorium on Saturday, May 27th. The band, composed of vocalist Ali Azmat (left), lead guitar Salman Ahmad (center) and bass guitar Brian O'Connell, has created a new genre of South Asian music by mixing western rock beats with traditional “Sufi” tones. Their new album Parwaaz has sold millions of copies in India and Pakistan, inspiring PAKSMIT, MIT’s Pakistani student group, to sponsor their recent concert.
