Tennis Slams WPI, Remains Undefeated

The women's tennis team travelled on Tuesday to play the Worcester Polytechnic Institute. MIT won the match 81 to remain undefeated in the conference.

In doubles play, Mealani Nakamura '00 and Kelly Koskelin '02 won without dropping a game 80, at the first position, while Jessica Hall '02 and Nisha Singh '00 prevailed 82 at second doubles.Yi-Ning Cheng '02 and Shikha Gupta '01 won 83 at third doubles, as did Priscilla Cheung '02 and Kosanna Poon '01 at fourth doubles.

In singles, Nakamura, Koskelin, and Hall both won by identical 61, 60 scores at first, second, and third singles, respectively. Singh prevailed 62, 62 at fourth singles, while Cheng lost a tough three-setter, 62, 26, 06 at fifth singles. Gupta won easily, 60, 62 at sixth singles, while Cheung and Poon won 84 and 83 at seventh and eighth singles.

The team travels to play against Tufts on Saturday in a non-conference match.
