Weather: Stalling for Time

By Chris E. Forest
Staff Meteorologist

The Massachusetts region is near its peak colors this week and these spectacular views portend of weather to come. Developing in advance of a low-pressure system, a cold front begins moving across the eastern United States and will bring with it a chance of showers. For the remainder of Tuesday, however, we should have a pleasant afternoon and evening with partly sunny skies as we anticipate tomorrow's weather.

After the cold front arrives during the day on Wednesday, it will stall out over the east coast rather than moving through the area. This lingering frontal system could produce the odd shower or two through Thursday while keeping temperatures on the mild side (14-15C) with winds generally from the south. But for now, we should enjoy this pleasant fall day.

Today: Mostly sunny and pleasant. High: 19C (66F)

Tonight: Clouding over and mild. Low: 10C (51F)

Wednesday: Cloudy with scattered showers. High: 15C (59F) Low: 6C (42F)

Thursday: Continued cloudy. High 12C (55F). Low 6C (43F)
