Police Log

The following incidents were reported to the Campus Police between Dec. 5 and 18:

Dec. 5: Bldg. W59, T-shirts stolen, $260; Bldg. E15, laptop stolen, $6,000; Nuclear Reactor Lab, malicious damage.

Dec. 6: Edgerton House, clothing stolen, $25; resident of 520 Beacon Street calls to complain about Sigma Phi Epsilon at 518 Beacon Street; 84 Massachusetts Avenue, motor vehicle accident involving an MIT vehicle; first floor entrance at Westgate broken into; Du Pont Gymnasium, larceny of pants and wallet.

Dec. 7: Bldg. 5, malicious damage to a vending machine; Student Center, trespassing.

Dec. 8: Bldg. 35, suspicious activity; Bldg. 20, suspicious activity; Bldg. 38, obscene e-mail; New House, complaint of loud music and strange women wandering around.

Dec. 9: West lot, '95 Acura Integra stolen; Bldg. NW20, suspicious activity; Bldg. 68, suspicious activity; 33 Massachusetts Avenue, bicycle stolen, $100.

Dec. 10: Du Pont, suspicious activity; MacGregor House, harassing e-mail; Bldg. 20, unauthorized use of an area; Student Center, 1) Scott Banks, of 27 Tonawonda Street, Dorchester, arrested for trespassing and on warrant; 2) malicious damage to ATM machine; Bldg. 10, electronic day planner stolen, $400; Bldg. 26, wallet and credit cards stolen, $50; Bldg. 54, harassing e-mail; McCormick Hall, report of disorderly person, turns out to be a misunderstanding between students; Bldg. 26, report of trash can on fire, nothing found; Bldg. 7, intoxicated person.

Dec. 11: Bldg. 24, assistance to community member; Sloan Lot, '96 Honda Accord stolen; Baker House, harassment, Women's Independent Living Group, fight outside.

Dec. 12: Bldg. 36, student falls, transported to Massachusetts General Hospital for treatment; Ashdown House, complaint of noise outside; outside Bldg. 9 and Bldg. 13, trespass warning issued.

Dec. 13: Bldg. 2, annoying phone call; High Voltage Research Laboratory parking lot, car window broken; Bldg. 36, suspicious activity; Student Center, trespass warning issued.

Dec. 14: East Campus, complaint of noise from loud intoxicated group; Student Center Gameroom, student punched in face several times over a video game; Alumni Pool, ring stolen, later recovered, $500.

Dec. 15: Memorial Drive near Burton-Conner House, male observed breaking into motor vehicle, arrested by Massachusetts State Police; Student Center, backpack and leather jacket stolen, later recovered; Bldg. 16, laptop computer stolen, $3,100; student's mother concerned she is unable to contact daughter, student contacted and calls mother.

Dec. 16: Rockwell Cage, wallet and credit cards stolen, later recovered minus cash, $25; High Voltage Research Laboratory parking lot, vandalism to vehicle; Bldg. 18, keys stolen; Bldg. E17, 1) compact discs stolen, $200; 2) sunglasses stolen, $70; 3) compact discs stolen, $150; Bldg. E25, annoying mail; Senior House, harassing phone calls.

Dec. 17: Bldg.18, cash stolen, $55; Lobdell Food Court, person slips and injures ankle, transported to Medical Center for treatment; Bldg. 66, harassing phone calls; Tang Hall, bike stolen, $170; Eastgate, report of suspicious person hiding in bushes, no one found.

Dec. 18: Cyclotron, cordless phone stolen, $176; Bldg. 24, countertop stolen, $50; Kresge Auditorium, musical instruments stolen, $2,500; Bldg. E25, scale stolen, $1,600; Student Center, suspicious activity; Du Pont, coat and wallet stolen, $170; Lobdell, fight; Bldg. 1, suspicious activity; Bldg. 40, suspicious activity; report of unclothed peron loitering outside Bldg. E38 near Kendall Square T, no one found.
