A Tepid Tuesday
By Gerard RoeStaff Meteorologist
With a high pressure system sitting squat over the Midwest and southern Ontario, the synoptic situation is one of weak cold fronts sweeping down from the northwest as the colder air mass presses southward. In the near term, a weak cyclonic shortwave traveling along this front will stir up the atmosphere somewhat, supply moisture from the south, bringing clouds and a good chance of showers on Tuesday evening and through into Wednesday morning.
Tuesday: Partly sunny at first becoming cloudier by evening. A seasonable high of 78°F (26°C), with light winds blowing south-easterly off the ocean.
Tuesday night: Steadily becoming overcast, with scattered showers in the area. Chance of a rumble of thunder in the west. Low 64°F (18°C).
Wednesday: Mostly cloudy and cooler. Any showers lifting by mid-morning. High 74°F (23°C). Low 62°F (16°C).
