A notice about intermediate grades was incompletely distributed on Registration Day. For more information, contact Professor Paul A. Lagace or the Dean's Office.
"A three-year grading experiment will be in effect for subjects taken during the period from fall term 1995 through summer term 1998. This experiment will affect the grading system for all undergraduate and graduate students.
"Under the terms of the experiment, the MIT grading system will include plus and minus modifiers for use with letter grades A, B, and C for all academic subjects that count toward a student's grade point average. These grade modifiers will be recorded by the registrar and will appear in all internal end-of-term grade summaries and grade reports. However, the plus and minus modifiers will not appear on official MIT transcripts issued by the registrar, and will not affect the grade point average which appears both on the transcripts and on the internal grade report."
