Boston Weather: 64.0°F | Rain Fog/Mist and Breezy

Spring Tease

By Marek Zebrowski
Staff Meteorologist

The next few days will be noticeably cooler as a chilly upper level low slowly traverses our area and then stalls over the Canadian Maritimes. Although instability-type showers will dry out by late Friday, biting northwesterly breezes will remain as a small storm passes along the frontal boundry well offshore and keeps the strong pressure gradient in. Fairer skies on Saturday will be only a partial consolation for the frosty morning lows, whilst another storm, passing to our south on Sunday may bring some more unsettled weather to close the weekend. An early glance at the Marathon Monday calls for a return of fair skies and somewhat bracing temperatures.

Today: Partly to mostly cloudy with some sunny breaks and a chance of sprinkles. High 52F (11C) with brisk northwesterly winds.

Tonight: Clearing and cold, temperatures dropping to 36F (2C) in town, near or below freezing in the suburbs by daybreak, northwesterly winds continuing.

Saturday: Partly sunny, breezy and cool. Highs in the mid 50s (1113 C)

Sunday outlook: Becoming cloudy in the afternoon with a chance of light rain late. High temperatures rebounding into mid 50s (1113 C) after morning lows in the 30s (14 C).
