There were several mistakes in an article about the Putnam exam ["Students Place in Putnam Contest," April 11]. Alexandru D. Ionescu '95 and Henry L. Cohn '95 finished 13th and 22nd overall, not third and fourth. The story also misidentified two other competitors, Federico Ardila '98 and Sergey Ioffe '96.
MIT finished third in the contest behind Harvard University and Cornell University, which finished first and second.
Finally, the exam had 12 questions not six.
