Boston Weather: 75.0°F | A Few Clouds

Clipper Times

By Marek Zebrowski
Staff Meteorologist

In spite of the calendar's indications, spring weather will not be making a local appearance just yet as we remain on the cold side of the polar jet and in a fast-moving zonal flow, much more typical of mid-winter patterns.

A cold Canadian high will provide clearing for the first part of the weekend, then a fast-moving clipper-type storm will approach our area late on Saturday. Fortunately, the moisture for this system will be rather limited and the temperatures warm enough for the precipitation to be liquid. More seasonal weather may make a brief appearance early next week. Stay tuned!

Today: Becoming partly sunny in the afternoon with northwesterly winds turning into local seabreezes. High around 45F (7C) near the shore, closer to 50F (10C) inland.

Tonight: Clear and chilly with diminishing winds. Low 34F (1C) in the city, below freezing elsewhere.

Saturday: Sunny start. Becoming cloudy late in the day. Highs 4852F (811C) with light to moderate winds.

Saturday night: Cloudy with some light sprinkles and showers moving in from the west. Lows in mid to upper 30s (24C).

Sunday outlook: Cloudy start with some clearing later in the day. Highs around 50F (10C), lows in the upper 30s to low 40s (35C).
