By Cheryl Klepser

The MIT women's water polo team opened their season with a tournament at Brown University this past weekend. MIT lost to Brown (13-4) and Harvard University (11-6) but beat Princeton University (14-4) and University of Massachusetts (8-4).

Coaches Dan Lasko and Mike Vale stressed that the team showed marked improvement with each game as players gained more game experience and confidence.

Goalie Julia Hendrix G had many great saves and was the pool leader playing goalie for every game. The balanced scoring attack was led by Tina Grosskopf '92, Yvonne Grierson G, Cheryl Klepser '91, Jamie Anderson G and Maureen Fahey G.

The team is looking forward to a rematch with Harvard at the Harvard tournament this weekend.
