Men's gym loses to Vermont

By Keith MacKay

Notable performances were given by Manuel Jaime '93, Reggie Abel '92, Antonio Hernandez '91, and team co-captains Joe Fugaro '91 and Tim Holt '90. Jaime competed in the all-around event and scored a total of 27.95 points.

Abel earned 29.5 points for the team while competing in only five of the six events. He turned in the team's best performances in both the floor exercises (7.9) and vault (8.3).

Hernandez earned the team's high score on the high bar and also on the rings, from which he performed a difficult double-back-somersault dismount. Fugaro gave consistently good performances on the vault (8.05) and the still rings.

In his last competition for MIT, Holt turned in the best performance of his career. He posted the team's high scores on both the parallel bars and the pommel horse, on which he executed a far-from-trivial travel-down.
