Book's quality is irrelevant in face of murder threat's
The Iranian government's reaction to The Satanic Verses largely eclipses any questions about the quality of that book. Semseddin T"urk"oz's letter ["Satanic Verses is libel against Islam," Feb. 28] apparently approving of the Ayatollah's sentence is unworthy of any member of this community, let alone one writing as president of a society which enjoys special privileges.
