Tech reporting speaks poorly of the men's crew team's performance

We would like to thank The Tech for its article on public service and financial aid ["Bills link service and financial aid," May 2]. The MIT Center for Public Service was pleased that this dinner forum on public service attracted such a large and committed group of MIT faculty, staff, and student leaders.

We would like to clarify one point in the article. The MIT Center for Public Service was the organizer of the forum, not the sponsor. The event was made possible by the generous support of the Student Financial Aid Office, the Department of Urban Studies and Planning, the Admissions Office, and the Office of the Dean for Student Affairs. We thank them for their support.
