Seven second-half goals by Wellesley College helped power it to a 13-7 victory over MIT in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's lacrosse game on Tuesday.

The Tech baseball team shattered a single-game program record with 33 hits en route to a 295 victory over Middlebury College in the Greater Phoenix Invitational. Despite the loss of four key starters and a completely revamped lineup, it took only three games for MIT baseball to once again assert its position among the top teams in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC).

Eight consecutive goals to start the second half helped power Endicott College to a 19-10 victory over MIT in non-conference women’s lacrosse action last Thursday night.

In a hard-fought non-conference men's volleyball match, nationally-ranked No. 11 MIT emerged with a 22-30, 33-31, 30-27, 30-25 victory over Endicott College. With the win, the Engineers improved to 23-4 overall while the Gulls fell to 15-14.

The nationally-ranked No. 10 MIT men's volleyball team recorded its best outing at the Endicott College March Mania Invitational this past weekend as it finished in third place out of a field of 12 teams.

Sophomore defender Stephanie V. Brenman ’09 was named an ECAC East All-Conference Team Honorable Mention after tallying seven goals and seven assists to rank third in scoring on MIT’s women’s ice hockey team. She is the second player in the program’s history to receive this award as goaltender. Regina M. Sullivan ’05 was chosen in 2004-05. The Engineers recorded the best season in the program’s existence as they finished the year with an overall record of 5-14 and set new Institute standards in every offensive category.

The MIT men’s tennis team swept the doubles matches and won the top three singles matches en route to a 6-3 victory over Brandeis University on Saturday. With the win, the Engineers improved to 2-0 on the year while the Judges dropped their first contest of the season.

The MIT women’s tennis team kicked off its spring campaign with an 8-1 victory over Bates College on Saturday. With the win, the Engineers improved to 9-3 on the year while the Bobcats fell to 2-2.
