The MIT women’s water polo team (7-0) earned two easy victories over Bowdoin College and Bates College by scores of 14-1 and 15-2, respectively, this Sunday at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine. Analiese M. DiConti ’10 led the Engineers with nine goals, scoring over half of her goals in the first quarter to give the team early leads in both matches.

The women’s water polo team took sole control of first place in the North Atlantic Division on March 13 with a 10-8 win over Boston College at the Zesiger Center Pool. Blair K. Brettmann G and Analiese M. DiConti ’10 had three goals each to give the Engineers an early lead. The team held off Boston College’s late attempts in the final minutes of the game.

The women’s water polo club opened their season last weekend at Bates College, going 4-0 in a tournament that featured North Atlantic Division rivals. The Engineers defeated Wellesley College (10-8), Bates College (13-4), Boston University (10-4), and Bowdoin College (13-3).

It’s been an emotional ride for the Engineers this season after losing seven players from last year’s North Atlantic Division champion team, but the returning group of seniors managed to hold on to lead the team to club nationals for the third straight year.
