Water pressure cracked and lifted the asphalt in the middle of the parking lot, and overwhelmed the drains near the driveway under the Infinite Corridor in building 7. A pipe in the same lot burst in August, 2010, though that flooding was more substantial and took longer to subside. The water subsided about two hours after the initial flooding. Researchers at the Rohsenow Heat and Mass Transfer Laboratory, immediately next to the flooded driveway in the basement of the Infinite, expressed concern that waves from cars driving through would flood their lab — as happened in 2010.
