Freshman falls from MacGregor

Michael P. Manley '02, a resident of MacGregor G entry, fell to his death from the 14th floor of MacGregor House Saturday afternoon in an apparent suicide. He was taken by ambulance to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead on arrival, according to Kenneth D. Campbell, director of the MIT News Office.

Damien N. Burke '02, who lives in MacGregor H entry, said that he heard a scream at about 2:50pm and called the Campus Police. The CPs arrived on the scene within about 2 minutes, Burke said.

Students and other members of the MIT community who need counseling can call the Medical Center (3-4481), where a psychiatrist is on call. Also, there is a Dean on call that can be contacted through the Campus Police by calling 3-1212.
