See also: Campus Crimes Drop Slightly in '93 from the Oct. 1 issue

On the following pages, please find statistics for campus crime, police activity and services during the period January 1 - June 30, 1993 (inclusive).

Of the 1,043 complaints made to the MIT Police Department in the first half of 1993, 8 were in the crimes against the person category. This figure reflects crimes which took place on MIT property and not crimes involving members of the MIT community that occurred adjacent to MIT (such as Memorial Drive). Although in 1993, members of the community were victims of crimes off the MIT campus but in the City of Cambridge, these crime statistics are maintained by the Cambridge and Metro Police Departments. Although MIT Police officers may have been involved in the police response to the scene, the jurisdiction of the crime is determined by its location. The following pages provide a detailed synopsis of each incident.
